Creating content doesn't have to be hard.
Often we put a ton of pressure on ourselves to create the perfect content.
We've all done it.
We sit down at the computer to write a post or a new blog and had no idea what to write about and end up staring at a blank screen or scrolling our FB feed.
Now, what should have taken you an hour or two to create ended up taking two days and you still aren't sure if it's ready to post to the world.
It's time to create a strategic content plan.
Here's what works for me and my clients:
Plan your content 30 days at a time
Sit down at the end of each month and map out what type of content you want to create each week and create a topic or title for the blog post or social media post. This gives you a chance to start thinking about the topic long before it's time to sit down and create content. Every time you think of an idea that could go along with the post, jot it down. Now you have a bullet point list created and you can easily create the post based on your notes.
Prepare for the upcoming week
Spend 10-15 minutes every Friday at the end of your day to prepare your schedule for the upcoming week. Fill in what your goals are, what appointments you have and plug tasks into your calendar so that Monday morning when you sit down at your desk you've taken all of the guesswork out and can just get to work. This also gives you the chance to free your mind over the weekend as you aren't distracted all weekend worried about what you have to do on Monday morning. It will all be there waiting for you, and you can enjoy time with your family and friends.
Bulk Schedule
Block out a chunk of time each week to create content. Determine how long it will take you and schedule time in your week to create content. I like to block out 1-3 hours on Mondays to write my blog, create social posts and create my newsletter. I find it easier to do all in one chunk of dedicated time rather than trying to do a bit here and there.
Engage for 10 minutes each day
Engage for 10 minutes a day on your content. I found that I was spending too much time on social media and not being as productive as I could be with my time. So now I hop into my FB group, my FB page and on Instagram for about 10 minutes each day to check on that week's content and to answer DMs, respond to comments or ask new questions. This allows me to spend more time being of service in other people's FB groups and keeps me from being distracted and falling into the social media rabbit hole.
