I get asked all the time by clients how often they should show up on social media and, how to know what type of content to create that will have clients leaning in and wanting more from them.
The answer is easy, it depends.
I don't believe that there is a set number of times you need to show up.
It really depends on what feels good to you and how often you want to create quality content.
I personally would rather get great content a few times a week, than mediocre content 7 days a week.
Create content consistently.
Pick what feels good to you and stick to that schedule. I like to email my list one time a week with something valuable to them that they can use to grow their business or inspire them. So that's what I do. Every Wednesday morning you get an email from me, my audience knows to expect it and to keep an eye out for it. Take a look at your current content plan and ask yourself if you're being consistent. If not, what would you like this process to look like? Build out a plan that has you showing up consistently with content so that your audience knows what to expect from you.
Use brand containers.
Create a plan of topics that align with your brand and align with what you like to talk about and rotate through them so that your audience gets to know you. Brand containers are a great way to do this. Think about 3-7 topics aka containers that you can use to grow your business without always selling. Examples could be your business, mom life, travel, procrastination, time management, perfectionist, tv show that you love, self love and mindset. Think about what topics you love to talk about, write them out, and rotate through them each week when you share social media posts, newsletters or blogs.
Do market research.
Check in with your audience and find out what they need from you. The more you connect with your audience and pull questions from them the easier it is for you to create valuable content. Some of my favorite ways to show up and do research is by sending surveys to my email list, asking questions in my Facebook group or in other groups, pulling questions that my clients ask me or paying attention to what other people ask online.
Now that you've created a consistent content schedule, you know to rotate through your brand containers and you're using market research to think of topics it will give you the ability to show up and grow your business without all the icky sleazy slimy sales approach and can grow your community in an easy way and give tons of value.
