What is a personal brand?


A personal brand is your unique combination of stories, skills, experiences, the emotions you share, photos that connect, your personality and the content you create that make you who you are.


I personally feel it all starts with your story, the quickest way to set yourself apart from the competition is with your story.


It is how you present yourself to the world.

I get asked all the time what’s the difference between a big brand and a personal brand. 


With a personal brand you’re marketing yourself and your services, where a big business brand is marketing a store or product. 


Effective personal branding will differentiate you from the competition and allow you to build trust with prospective clients and employers.


People are taking notice and watching what you do. You need to clearly communicate who you are and what you do to stand out online with potential clients, strategic alliance partners and clients.


One way to get this across is to communicate your values, mission and vision in everything that you do in a way that connects to your people. People want to know what you stand for so they can determine if they want to stand with you.


Stand out by being you and sharing things about you that will help others feel connected to you and repel the ones that are not our people.


You want to make a great impression from the beginning so that you can build on the know, like and trust factor. If you break that trust up front it’s almost impossible to correct it in the online space.


Think about it like this. If you were to meet me in-person after following me online, the goal is to make it feel like you already know them and that there is no disconnect in how you’re showing up.
